面向需求的自适应瓦片立方体更新及验证

Abstract :

针对多源异构地球观测数据组织和管理所存在的问题,提出了一种基于北斗网格的面向需求的自适应瓦片立方体模型(requirement-oriented adaptive tile datacube,RATD),旨在实现多源异构地球观测数据的动态组织与高效管理。通过引入有限状态机(finite state machine,FSM)进行瓦片数据的动态更新建模,基于需求生成和更新瓦片数据。以福建省地表覆盖分类为案例,验证了模型的可行性。结果表明:更新后的RATD总体分类精度与Kappa系数均在0.93以上;此外,相较于传统方法,RATD在数据获取流程的效率以及所需时间方面展现出显著优势。研究结果为EO数据的高效管理和应用提供了新的思路和方法。

面向物种分布预测的加速计算方法研究

Abstract :

本研究针对大范围物种潜在分布预测问题,选取了随机森林模型(random forest,RF)、支持向量机(sup-port vector machine,SVM)、极限梯度提升模型(eXtreme gradient boosting,XGBoost)作为核心算法,并借助图形处理单元(graphics processing unit,GPU)设计并行计算策略,提出阶段式CUDA加速计算方法,以期在保证预测精度的同时,显著降低计算时间.以北大西洋Desmophyllum pertusum冷水珊瑚为研究对象,本研究运用十折交叉验证以及多种评价方法对模型性能进行了全面评估.实验结果表明,3种模型在合理的精度范围内均显著提升了计算性能.其中,SVM的性能提升效果最为显著,速度提升了 88.48%,而RF和XGBoost速度提升分别为88.41%和16.54%.综合来看,XGBoost模型在性能和预测精度方面表现最佳.同时,本研究所提出的阶段式CUDA加速计算方法对随机森林和支持向量机都展现出显著的性能提升效果.

Abstract :

The exponential growth of Earth observation (EO) data offers unprecedented support for spatial analysis and decision-making. However, it also presents significant challenges in data organization, management, and utilization. Organizing heterogeneous EO image data into analysis-ready tiles can significantly enhance data usage efficiency. However, existing methods lack customized approaches tailored to specific themes as well as effective update mechanisms. To address these challenges, this study proposes a thematic tile data cube model that is grounded in themes and utilizes Global Subdivision Grids within an adaptive data cube framework. The model employs a finite state machine approach for updating the tiles, allowing for the organization and updating of these tiles to precisely meet specific thematic needs, aiding in creating analysis-ready datasets. Using the prediction of cold-water coral distribution in the North Atlantic as a case study, this research demonstrates the standardization and tiling of environmental variable data as well as the simulation of batch data updates. Predictive analysis using the random forest model on two thematic tile data cubes shows a significant improvement in prediction accuracy following updates. The results validate the effectiveness of the thematic tile data cube model in data structuring and updating. This study presents a novel approach for the efficient organization and updating of image tile data, providing users with customized analysis-ready tile datasets and continuous updates.

Abstract :

本文旨在研究一种面向格网化立方体元数据的抽象树模型,以支持多源异构对地观测元数据的管理,减少对异构元数据的解析、适配和存储结构设计.首先,基于对对地观测元数据基本特征的分析,本文抽象出元数据的一般构成要素,定义统一的抽象树模型及其操作方法;然后,基于关系型数据库系统实现抽象树模型的存储与操作映射,结合主流地理信息互操作相关国际标准设计格网化立方体元数据模型,实现异构元数据的统一集成与存储;最后,构建格网化立方体元数据管理原型系统,以北大西洋环境变量的数据管理为应用案例,展示基于抽象树模型的格网化立方体元数据操作.应用表明,本文提出的元数据模型易于操作,拓展性强,能有效支持对地观测元数据的集成与存储.

Development of a 30 m resolution global sand dune/sheet classification map (GSDS30) using multi-source remote sensing data SCIE

Abstract :

Accurate information of sand dune/sheet (SDS) spatial distribution is required by global-scale environmental assessment. However, the great spatio-temporal heterogeneity of SDS and the confusion of SDS to similar land cover types lead to variant feature representations and inadequate classification samples; thus, existing SDS mapping focuses on the regional scale, and the high-quality global SDS map is still lacking. In this study, we proposed a classification strategy and for the first time developed a 30 m resolution global SDS map (GSDS30) in the year 2017 that contained two SDS types, i.e., shifting SDS and semi-fixed/fixed SDS. The proposed strategy started by determining the initial mapping extent of SDS. Then, multi-source features were extracted to capture SDS variations and enlarge the separability of diverse land covers. Thirdly, we developed a prior-constraining Knearest neighbor method to collect global SDS samples. Finally, a local random forest classifier was applied to generate classification results. The evaluation based on two validation sample sets showed good performance on the overall classification accuracy (88.73% and 87.92%), the Kappa coefficient (0.852 and 0.843), and the producer's and user's accuracies for two SDS types. Based on GSDS30, we found that global SDS occupied an area of 10.43 million km2, in which shifting SDS accounted for 60.41% and semi-fixed/fixed SDS accounted for the remaining 39.59%. The majority of SDS was distributed in Africa, Asia, and Oceania, where Australia had the greatest area of SDS. The combination of GSDS30 and population data showed that global SDS was inhabited by 14.5 million people, and 94.95% of them lived in semi-fixed/fixed SDS. This study is the first attempt to automatically produce global SDS map, which is not only necessary for representing the distribution of SDS, but also valuable in managing aeolian desertification and promoting sustainable development.

Addressing incomplete tile phenomena in image tiling: Introducing the grid six-intersection model SCIE

With the continuous development of Earth Observation technology, resolution of imagery and gridded data has significantly increased, leading to a rapid increase in data volume. To efficiently acquire and analyze these vast amounts of imagery and gridded data, image tiling technology has been developed to effectively access data of interested areas. Tiling technology divides large-scale image data into smaller tiles, providing fast, accurate, and efficient access support for imagery and gridded data. The spatial grid model, as the foundational framework of the new generation of geographic spatial information, plays a critical role in the retrieval, integration, services, and applications of imagery and gridded data resources. When tiling image data based on the spatial grid model, it always generates both complete and incomplete tiles. Particularly, when conducting image tile retrieval using the same rule-based grid in the retrieval area, incomplete tile phenomena along the boundary regions of the retrieved images often occur, resulting in gaps within the retrieval area. To tackle this issue, in this study, we present a new topological model called the Grid Six-Intersection Model (G-6IM), specifically designed for regular rectangular grids, to accurately represent boundary issues in image tiling. Through a practical case study, we demonstrate the effectiveness and practical application potential of the proposed G-6IM model, providing new insights and guidance for the improvement and optimization of imagery and gridded data tiling technology.

A Tiled EO Data Cube Based on BeiDou Grid EI

Abstract :

Earth Observation (EO) technology plays an essential role in monitoring environmental challenges and assessing the impact of human activities. As the field of Earth observation enters the era of big data, the exponential growth in data volume presents new challenges for data management and storage. To enhance the efficiency of data sharing and analysis, effectively subdividing and managing these vast datasets becomes crucial. This study proposes an innovative tiling method for three-dimensional EO data cubes, organizing the spatial dimension according to the BeiDou grid and subdividing the third dimension into regular or irregular segments based on specific requirements. By segmenting the data into manageable chunks, this method allows users to select appropriate data for particular application scenarios, reducing data redundancy and improving processing efficiency through smaller data volumes, thereby significantly enhancing the accessibility and utility of the data. This not only simplifies the process of utilizing EO data but also greatly facilitates the effective application of Earth observation information. © 2024 IEEE.

Environmental drivers and the distribution of cold-water corals in the global ocean SCIE

Abstract :

Species distribution models (SDMs) are useful tools for describing and predicting the distribution of marine species in data-limited environments. Outputs from SDMs have been used to identify areas for spatial management, analyzing trawl closures, quantitatively measuring the risk of bottom trawling, and evaluating protected areas for improving conservation and management. Cold-water corals are globally distributed habitat-forming organisms that are vulnerable to anthropogenic impacts and climate change, but data deficiency remains an ongoing issue for the effective spatial management of these important ecosystem engineers. In this study, we constructed 11 environmental seabed variables at 500 m resolution based on the latest multi-depth global datasets and high-resolution bathymetry. An ensemble species distribution modeling method was used to predict the global habitat suitability for 10 widespread cold-water coral species, namely, 6 Scleractinian framework-forming species and 4 large gorgonian species. Temperature, depth, salinity, terrain ruggedness index, carbonate saturation state, and chlorophyll were the most important factors in determining the global distributions of these species. The Scleractinian Madrepora oculata showed the widest niche breadth, while most other species demonstrated somewhat limited niche breadth. The shallowest study species, Oculina varicosa, had the most distinctive niche of the group. The model outputs from this study represent the highest-resolution global predictions for these species to date and are valuable in aiding the management, conservation, and continued research into cold-water coral species.

多源异构对地观测(Earth Observation,EO)数据的应用已经深入到国民经济建设的各个领域。然而,不同类型、不同来源、不同部门的数据给空间信息的共享带来了极大的挑战,地球剖分网格和Web服务的结合为多源异构数据的共享问题提供了解决思路。其中,北斗网格具有剖分结构简单、易于使用的特点,可以辅助检索影像数据;Web服务可用于北斗网格码标识下的影像数据检索。因此,本文以北斗网格为参考,建立网格与影像数据的映射关系,提出一种遥感影像数据的北斗网格描述方法和影像数据获取方法,并在RESTful架构的基础上,设计一个北斗网格影像描述Web服务和基于北斗网格码的影像数据获取Web服务原型,实现在同一参考框架下以网格为单元的影像数据互操作。

在本公开中,本发明涉及用于在线分析就绪图像和网格立方体的数据存储管理方法和系统。 该方法包括:根据多个图块细分方案存储图像和网格5立方体,每个存储方案对应一个配置,根据匹配规则比较每个立方体的I/O数和数据大小,得到I/O数最小的图块细分存储方案,同时考虑请求数据量及其系数,然后访问对应的图块细分存储方案的目标数据块,以10提高立方体的在线分析就绪性能。 本发明的基于MongoDB的立方体数据存储方法,提高了在线分析就绪应用中立方体目标数据块的访问效率,减少了无效数据块的传输和相应计算能力的消耗,提高了在线分析就绪应用的性能。 15 13
