Response reconstruction based on measurement matrix optimization in compressed sensing for structural health monitoring SCIE

Abstract :

Structural health monitoring (SHM) data have a large volume, increasing the cost of data storage and transmission and the difficulties of structural parameter identification. The compressed sensing (CS) theory provides a signal acquisition and analysis strategy. Signal reconstruction using limited measurements and CS has attracted significant interest. However, the dynamic responses obtained from civil engineering structures contain noise, resulting in sparse samples and reducing the signal reconstruction accuracy. Therefore, we propose an optimization algorithm for the measurement matrix integrating the Karhunen-Loeve transform (KLT) and approximate QR decomposition (KLT-QR) to improve the accuracy of dynamic response reconstruction of SHM data. The KLT reduces the correlation between the measurement matrix and the sparse basis. The approximate QR decomposition is used to improve the independence between the column vectors of the measurement matrix, optimizing the measurement matrix. The experimental results for a laboratory steel beam indicate that the proposed KLT-QR algorithm outperforms three other algorithms regarding the accuracy of dynamic response reconstruction (acceleration, displacement, and strain), especially at high compression ratios. The acceleration responses from the Ji'an Bridge are utilized to verify the advantages of the proposed algorithm. The results demonstrate that the KLT-QR algorithm has the highest accuracy of reconstructing the vibration signals and yields better Fourier spectra than the conventional Gaussian measurement matrix.

Abstract :

The key to damage pattern recognition lies in digging and classifying damage features from the response data of civil structures. To this end,a stack auto-encoder network with several auto-encoder hidden layers and a Softmax classification layer is built for analyzing frame structures. A hybrid learning mechanism is adopted to combining unsupervised and supervised learning strategies. Finite element analysis is used to generate the transmissibility function samples corresponding to different scenarios of a frame structure. The transmissibility samples are then divided into training,validation,and test sets. The parameters of the auto-encoder hidden layers,such as the weights and bias,are determined by a pre-training strategy in order to avoid the phenomenon of network over fitting. A fine-tuning step is employed to adjust the pre-trained network parameters,and the network hyper parameters are further adjusted based on the validation set. The measured transmissibility data are input into the network to evaluate the damage of the frame structure. The analysis results show that the proposed method can effectively extract and classify the damage features. Both the single and double damage scenarios at the frame joints were identified with higher accuracy and better anti-noise ability than the traditional shallow neural network. © 2024 Nanjing University of Aeronautics an Astronautics. Abstract :

Structural modal identification is generally implemented within a dynamic framework, requiring multidisciplinary knowledge and adequate operational experience. This preliminary study attempts to explore an easy-to-handle quasi-static alternative method for dynamics-based modal identification of beam-type structures. Acceleration time-history data are replaced by quasi-static deflections induced by slow moving loads. A concept of quasi-static deflection influence surface is proposed based on the theory of influence lines and the principle of virtual work. Its analytical expression is simplified into a deflection matrix by choosing specific points on the surface according to deflection measurement coordinates. The matrix form is divided by external loads to obtain a generalised quasi-static flexibility matrix, which is used to replace the inversion of the global stiffness matrix in the modal eigenvalue equation. The lumped-mass method is also employed to establish the mass matrix. Subsequently, the eigenvalue equation is analytically solved seeking for modal frequencies and mode shapeswithout performing modal tests. The feasibility of the proposed method has been successfully verified against three experimental examples including a continuous box girder with variable cross sections. It was observed that the modal frequencies and mode shapes estimated by the proposed method were very close to those given by the dynamically modal tests.

基于贝叶斯网络的结构易损性智能推理 CSCD PKU

Abstract :

为实现结构易损性的智能化推理,提出以贝叶斯网络(Bayesian networks, BNs)重构桁架结构的易损性分析体系。首先,分别定义外荷载、体系和杆件为网络顶层父节点、中间节点和底层子节点,节点间通过有向弧表示因果关系,形成BN拓扑;接着,提出以杆件“大损伤”替代传统的“概念移除”方式,考虑杆件参数及外荷载的不确定性,结合抽样实现对节点间条件概率表的学习,完成BN的构建;然后将特定杆件的观测状态作为证据输入BN,同步推理其他杆件的节点状态概率,进而计算杆件的重要性系数,并定义所有杆件的重要性系数之和为体系的易损性系数;最后,提出杆件易损指标,作为预测桁架体系最可能失效路径的依据。研究结果表明:所提方法能更合理地评价各杆件在体系中的重要性,推理得到的杆件破坏路径与试验观测一致,所计算的试验桁架体系易损性系数远小于杆件数目,表明当前荷载组合下特定杆件的损伤引起体系发生连续性倒塌的可能性较小。

Abstract :

如何从土木结构响应数据中挖掘损伤特征并有效分类,是实现损伤模式识别的关键.为此,以框架结构为分析对象,搭建设有自编码器隐藏层和Softmax分类层的栈式自编码器网络,采用无监督联合有监督的混合学习机制;基于有限元分析获取框架不同工况下的传递比函数值,构建训练集、验证集和测试集样本;通过预训练确定自编码器隐藏层的参数值如权重和偏置值,避免网络出现过拟合;采用微调方式进一步调整预训练后的网络参数值,再结合验证集实现对网络超参数的调整;将实测传递比数据输入网络,实现对框架节点损伤的评估.结果表明:所提方法能有效进行损伤特征的提取和分类,准确识别框架节点的单、双损伤工况,相较于传统浅层神经网络具有更高的识别准确度和更好的抗噪性.

不对称信息下工程供应链赊销交易分析

以一个资金不足的建材供应商与一个建材制造商组成的二级供应链为研究对象,结合激励理论,分别建立工程供应链赊销激励模型和贷款激励模型,分析信息对称与否和是否进行赊销对各决策变量的影响。结果表明:无论赊销与否,相较于信息对称情形,信息不对称将会进一步导致工程供应链最优订货量向下扭曲;与贷款交易相比,赊销交易一定程度上缓解了工程供应链最优订货量的扭曲;在信息不对称情形下,为了甄别建材制造商的真实生产成本,激励建材制造商进行赊销交易扩大商品订货量,从而降低工程供应链滞销风险,建材供应商愿意以牺牲自身利益为代价。

Abstract :

This pedagogical study aimed to demonstrate an updated Building Information Modelling (BIM) educational activity in CEM (i.e., construction engineering and management) students’ final semester project. It investigated students’ perceptions of BIM and the project. Student feedback provided insights for linking education to practice, for example, what caused differences between manual estimates and BIM-generated quantity take-off. Four different project deliverable options demonstrated how educational theories could be embedded in BIM education. The novelty of this study lies in two aspects: firstly, this pedagogical research views the CEM education at the curriculum level by linking earlier years’ core CEM courses into the final project work; secondly, by designing four different options of BIM-related deliverables, subgroup analyses test how different factors, such as teamwork verse individual work, and BIM application level, could affect students’ learning outcomes. The current study also led to more future explorations in research-informed teaching in the CEM curriculum. © 2022 The Author(s). Published by Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

针对结构健康监测因海量数据导致的数据传输和储存压力大,以及实际振动信号受外界环境噪声影响导致稀疏性较差的问题,提出融合阈值法的贝叶斯压缩感知振动信号重构算法.引入贝叶斯压缩感知理论对数据进行压缩采样,融合阈值法增强信号的稀疏度以改善后续信号重构的精度,然后用快速超参数估计法估计稀疏向量,以高精度和高概率地恢复原始信号.利用江西省吉安大桥的环境振动试验数据验证融合阈值法的贝叶斯压缩感知振动信号重构算法的有效性和可行性.研究结果表明,使用阈值法的贝叶斯压缩感知信号重构算法精度要优于未使用算法重构的振动信号得到的结果,尤其是高压缩比的情况下.
