Assessment of Residual Useful Life of Sun Gear in a Planetary Gearbox Based on Dynamic Wear Behaviors Analyses SCIE
期刊论文 | 2023 , 11 (2) | MACHINES
Abstract&Keyword Cite

Abstract :

For proactively arranged downtime and maintenance of the gearbox, the accurate assessment of residual useful life (RUL) for worn-surface gear is a critical problem that needs to be solved. In light of this, a novel dynamic assessment methodology for RUL of sun gear was proposed by coupling Archard's wear model and a nonlinear dynamics model. By modifying the internal excitation model, the effect of tooth surface wear is included in the dynamics model. Then, the effect of dynamic behavior on the wear process of the tooth surface is further fed back by the dynamic meshing force. On this basis, the influence of input speed, torque load and initial wear depth on the RUL was analyzed using a planetary gear NGW11-6 as an example. The results indicate that the torque load has the greatest influence on the RUL, followed by the initial wear depth, and that the input speed has the least influence. The established methodology will provide a theoretical basis for the RUL assessment and scheduled maintenance of transmission systems with worn-surface gears.

Unusual slow energy relaxation induced by mobile discrete breathers in one-dimensional lattices with next-nearest-neighbor coupling SCIE CSCD

Abstract&Keyword Cite

Abstract :

We study the energy relaxation process in one-dimensional (1D) lattices with next-nearest-neighbor (NNN) couplings. This relaxation is produced by adding damping (absorbing conditions) to the boundary (free-end) of the lattice. Compared to the 1D lattices with on-site potentials, the properties of discrete breathers (DBs) that are spatially localized intrinsic modes are quite unusual with the NNN couplings included, i.e. these DBs are mobile, and thus they can interact with both the phonons and the boundaries of the lattice. For the interparticle interactions of harmonic and Fermi-Pasta-Ulam-Tsingou-beta (FPUT-beta) types, we find two crossovers of relaxation in general, i.e. a first crossover from the stretched-exponential to the regular exponential relaxation occurring in a short timescale, and a further crossover from the exponential to the power-law relaxation taking place in a long timescale. The first and second relaxations are universal, but the final power-law relaxation is strongly influenced by the properties of DBs, e.g. the scattering processes of DBs with phonons and boundaries in the FPUT-beta type systems make the power-law decay relatively faster than that in the counterparts of the harmonic type systems under the same coupling. Our results present new information and insights for understanding the slow energy relaxation in cooling the lattices.

Negative differential thermal resistance of fluids induced by heat baths EI
期刊论文 | 2022 , 4 (4) | Physical Review Research
Abstract&Keyword Cite

Abstract :

It has recently been shown that in one-dimensional hard-point gases, there is a mechanism that induces negative differential thermal resistance (NDTR) between heat baths. We examine this mechanism in more general higher-dimensional fluids described by multiparticle collision dynamics. We consider fluids in a finite cuboid region of three-dimensional space with each end in contact with a heat bath. Based on analytical results and numerical models, we find that the mechanism underlying NDTR also works for high-dimensional fluidic systems with weak interactions and is very robust to mixed fluids. Our results significantly advance knowledge of NDTR induced by heat baths and illuminate different directions to explore in fabricating fluid thermal transistors in micro- and nanosystems. © 2022 authors. High performance inkjet-printed metal oxide thin film transistors via addition of insulating polymer with proper molecular weight SCIE

Abstract :

Fabrication of metal oxide thin film transistor (MOTFT) arrays using the inkjet printing process has caused tremendous interest for low-cost and large-area flexible electronic devices. However, the inkjet-printed MOTFT arrays usually exhibited a non-uniform geometry due to the coffee ring effect, which restricted their commercial application. Therefore, in this work, a strategy is reported to control the geometry and enhance device performance of inkjet-printed MOTFT arrays by the addition of an insulating polymer to the precursor solution prior to film deposition. Moreover, the impact of the polymer molecular weight (MW) on the geometry, chemical constitution, crystallization, and MOTFT properties of inkjet-printed metal oxide depositions was investigated. The results demonstrated that with an increase of MW of polystyrene (PS) from 2000 to 200 000, the coffee ring was gradually faded and the coffee ring effect was completely eliminated when MW reached 200 000, which is associated with the enhanced viscosity with the insulating polymer, providing a high resistance to the outward capillary flow, which facilitated the depinning of the contact line, leading to the elimination of the coffee ring. More importantly, the carrier mobility increased significantly from 4.2 cm(2) V-1 s(-1) up to 13.7 cm(2) V-1 s(-1) as PS MW increased from 2000 to 200 000, which was about 3 times that of the pristine In2O3 TFTs. Grazing incidence X-ray diffraction and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy results indicated that PS doping of In2O3 films not only frustrated crystallization but also altered chemical constitution by enhancing the formation of the M-O structure, both of which facilitated the carrier transport. These results demonstrated that the simple polymer additive process provides a promising method that can efficiently control the geometry of MO arrays during inkjet printing and maximize the device performance of MOTFT arrays, which showed great potential for the application in next generation printed displays and integrated circuits. Abstract :

A novel nonvolatile floating-gate transistor memory device using CdSe@ZnS quantum dots (QDs) embedded the insulating polymer as a charge-storage layer along with the rational design of device structure is presented. The core-shell structure CdSe@ZnS QDs can efficiently trap both holes and electrons under the applied writing/erasing operations, resulting in a considerable threshold voltage shifts (Delta V-TH) over 50 V and forming high-conductance (ON) and low-conductance (OFF) states at a gate voltage of 0 V. The value of threshold voltage shift is controlled by writing and erasing voltages, regardless with source-drain voltages. Furthermore, it exhibits a long retention time (the Delta V-TH can maintain 76% at 108 s) and outstanding endurance characteristics (> 500 cycles), demonstrating extraordinary stable and reliable memory property. Moreover, a thin layer of Al2O3 was introduced as tunneling dielectric layer which is essential for the high-performance floating-gate transistor memory device. The nonvolatile organic transistor memory devices using QDs-based floating gate show great potential application for high-performance organic memory devices.

Abstract :

Discrete breathers (DBs), also known as intrinsic localized modes, are spatially localized nonlinear vibrational modes in defected-free anharmonic lattices and expected to affect energy transfer process. However, whether DBs can contribute to thermal transport at finite temperature is still not very clear. In the present work, we briefly describe our recent results on the possible effects of DBs on heat transport. By employing two one-dimensional (1D) anharmonic lattice models with different phonon dispersions, we provide some numerical evidences to demonstrate that given the peculiar phonon dispersions along with nonlinearity, two kinds of DBs, i.e., the intra-band and extra-band ones, can exist in 1D lattices at finite temperature and thus contribute to thermal transport in different ways, i.e., the intra-band DBs can be scattering with phonons; while the extra-band DBs mainly localize the system energies, thus both tend to limit the heat transport in the thermodynamic limit. Our results here suggest that different peculiar phonon dispersions along with nonlinearity can enable us to excite different types of DBs, which then affect the heat transport process in different ways. These results may provide useful information for establishing the connection between the macroscopic heat transport process and the underlying DBs dynamics in general 1D nonlinear systems with various phonon dispersions. © 2016, Institute for Metals Superplasticity Problems of Russian Academy of Sciences. Abstract :

The binding of chloroamphenicol (CPC) to bovine serum albumin (BSA) at 296 K, 303 K, and 310 K by fluorescence and UV-visible absorption spectroscopy were investigated under imitated physiological conditions. The experimental results showed that the fluorescence quenching mechanism between CPC and BSA was combined quenching (dynamic and static quenching) procedure at low CPC concentration, or a dynamic quenching procedure at high concentrations. The binding constants, binding sites and the corresponding thermodynamic parameters of the interaction system were calculated. According to Forster non-radiation energy transfer theory, the binding distance between CPC and BSA was calculated to be 3.02 nm. Both synchronous fluorescence and FT-IR spectra confirmed the interaction, and indicated the conformational changes of BSA. The effects of some common metal ions Ca2+, Ni2+, Mg2+, Fe2+, and Cu2+ on the binding constant between CPC and BSA were examined. Furthermore, we investigated the possible sub-domains on BSA that bind CPC by displacement experiments. (C) 2012 Published by Elsevier B.V.

Abstract :

The interaction between pyrrolizine derivatives (PD) and bovine serum albumin (BSA) under imitated physiological conditions was analyzed by fluorescence and ultraviolet spectra. The experiments were conducted at three different temperatures (302, 306 and 310 K) and the results showed that PD caused the fluorescence quenching of BSA through a combined quenching procedure. The binding constant (K-a), binding-site number (n) between PD and BSA at different temperatures were obtained. According to Forster non-radiation energy transfer theory, the binding distance (r) between BSA and PD was calculated. The corresponding thermodynamic parameters (Delta G, Delta H, and Delta S) were also obtained. The comparison of binding potency of PD and BSA suggested that the substituent on the benzene ring could enhance the binding affinity of PD and BSA. Finally, we investigated the possible sub-domain on BSA where bind PD by displacement experiments. (C) 2012 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
