Guidelines for bus speed at intersections under travel time control SCIE

Abstract :

To improve the traffic efficiency of bus at a group of intersections and reduce their delay, this paper develops a speed guidance strategy for buses under travel time control at intersection groups. The approach considers the influence of bus departure time, bus station arrival rate, and bus station dwell time. Simulation experiments are carried out on three consecutive intersections along Jinshan Avenue in Fuzhou, China. Results show that the average travel time of buses, the average delay of buses, and the average delay per capita in the priority direction are reduced by 5.5%, 9.9%, and 9.4%, respectively. The optimal rate of the average number of bus stops reached 15.2%. The indicators of the non -priority direction of social vehicles are not significantly affected. It shows that the efficiency of buses has improved after implementing the speed guidance strategy at the intersection groups without affecting the social vehicles as far as possible.

Flexible optimal bus-schedule bridging for metro operation-interruption SCIE

Abstract :

Under the sudden interruption of the metro, it is significant to dispatch emergency bridging buses to evacuate stranded passengers to improve linkage management and service reliability. Aiming at the problem of emergency bridging bus scheduling, considering the remaining capacity of conventional buses, passenger tolerance, and site convenience, a flexible combined emergency bridging bus scheduling model is constructed based on the constraints of vehicle capacity, dispatching capacity, and maximum evacuation times of emergency bridging bus, aiming at minimizing the maximum evacuation time and passenger delay. The improved Harris hawk algorithm is used to solve the model, and the evacuation plan of the demand-responsive and station-station bridging lines is obtained. The maximum evacuation time is 41 min, and the average delay of stranded passengers is 19 min. The results show that the maximum evacuation time is 10% and 27% less than the fixed combined and single scheduling. The average delay is 16% and 42% less than the fixed combination and traditional single scheduling. The sensitivity analysis of the influencing factors of emergency bridging bus scheduling is conducted. The results show that the flexible combined emergency bridging bus scheduling model constructed in this paper can improve evacuation efficiency and reduce passenger travel delays. image

Microcirculation Bus Routes Design and Coordinated Schedules Considering the Impact of Shared Bicycles Scopus

This study focuses on solving the problem of metro first/last mile, studying the method for designing microcirculation bus routes and coordinating schedules considering the impact of shared bicycles. First, we propose a bilevel mixed-integer programming model for designing microcirculation bus routes and coordinating schedules considering the impact of shared bicycles. The upper-level model minimizes the weighted sum of the travel time cost of passengers and the operating cost of public transport enterprises, and the lower-level model maximizes the number of passengers served by microcirculation bus routes. Then, an improved genetic algorithm is developed to solve the model, called the Monte Carlo adaptive genetic algorithm (M-GAI). Finally, the proposed model and algorithm are evaluated using the case study in the area near the Fubao metro station of Shenzhen Metro Line 3. Results show that if the impact of shared bicycles is not considered, the passenger demand will be greater than the actual value, and the operating cost of public transport enterprises will be increased by 36%. Compared with GAI, the average number of iterations of M-GAI is reduced by 31%, and the objective function value is decreased by 4%. In addition, when the number of routes increases, the average waiting time of passengers is shortened, the average attendance rate of microcirculation buses increases, and the average empty distance of each vehicle is shortened. However, the operating cost of public transport enterprises will increase with the number of routes. Finally, when weight factors α and β are 0.6 and 0.4, respectively, and the sum of the travel time cost of passengers and the operating cost of public transport enterprises reach optimal. © 2024 American Society of Civil Engineers.

地铁线网性能分析及最小化韧性损失恢复策略 PKU

Abstract :

为更好地分析地铁线网性能,优化其在扰动状态下的恢复策略,采用基于复杂网络的地铁线网性能分析方法,并提出最小化韧性损失恢复策略.鉴于地铁线网复杂网络特征,采用Space L拓扑方法处理地铁线网,并运用复杂网络理论计算线网内各站点的基本参数,包括线网的度、平均路径和线网效率等.其次根据韧性理论以线网效率作为性能指标求解各站点韧性损失,采用遗传算法求解站点恢复序列.最后,以福州市为例,分析其地铁线网的复杂网络特征并进行扰动仿真,比较在多站点失效情况下的最小化韧性损失恢复策略与随机恢复策略的恢复效果.研究结果表明:在多个地铁站点受到扰动失效,采用最小化韧性损失恢复策略能够令地铁线网性能在恢复期间仍处于较优水平,恢复效果明显优于具有不确定性的随机恢复策略.

Sight Distance of Automated Vehicles Considering Highway Vertical Alignments and Its Implications for Speed Limits SCIE

Most existing road infrastructures were constructed before the emergence of automated vehicles (AVs) without considering their operational needs. Whether and how AVs could safely adapt to as-built highway geometry are questions that remain inconclusive, and a plausible concern is a challenge from vertical alignments. To fill this gap, this study uses a virtual simulation to investigate the available sight distance (ASD) of AVs on vertical alignments subject to the current highway geometric design specification and its implications for speed limits. According to the scenario generation framework, several scenarios featuring vertical geometric elements and lidar sensors were created and tested. Moreover, the maximum speed for adequate ASD is calculated to determine the AV speed limit, considering safe sight distance and speed consistency requirements. The results indicate that crest curves are not disadvantaged in ASD compared with either sag curves or tangent grades. Only equipped with multichannel lidar and advanced perception algorithms enabling a lower detection threshold would a level 4 AV be compatible with the as-built vertical alignment with a design speed (V-d) of 100 km/h. However, a level 3 AV can only adapt to the vertical profile with V-d = 60 km/h. The findings of this study should be of interest to the road-oriented operational design domain and support road administrators in regulating AV safe speeds.

Prediction of Arrival Time of Pure Electric Bus Based on FA-BP Algorithm SCIE

Abstract :

To establish a suitable pure electric bus arrival time prediction model, this paper takes pure electric bus as the research object. Based on the analysis of the influencing factors of the arrival time of the pure electric bus, the BP neural network arrival time prediction model optimized by the firefly algorithm (FA-BP prediction model) is established by selecting vehicle type, SOC value, battery age, and time as input conditions. The model is trained and tested by using bus operation data. The root mean square error of the Kalman filter model is 0.351, of the BP neural network model is 0.059, and of the FA-BP prediction model is 0.04. The results show that the model in this paper effectively improves the prediction accuracy and has good reliability and feasibility. It can provide some theoretical references for pure electric bus operation and managers and provide some basis for improving bus reliability.

Abstract :

The collaborative development of conventional buses and urban metro has become an important research topic for the priority development of urban public transport. The topic of collaborative optimization of feeder bus route design and operation is studied in this study. The objective function is to minimize the total travel time of passengers and the operation cost of feeder buses. The improved particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is used to solve the collaborative optimization model, and the effectiveness of the model and algorithm is verified through the case study. The research shows that it is feasible in model construction and algorithm to carry out collaborative optimization of feeder bus route design and operation. Compared with the multiple-to-one (M to 1) mode, the multiple-to-multiple (M to M) mode can better satisfy the needs of passengers from different places of departure and destinations to achieve a more reasonable and realistic goal. The case study is based on two metro stations and 16 feeder bus stops on Fuzhou Metro line 2 to obtain two bus routes and a corresponding operation scheme. Under the same topology road network, the operation time of the improved PSO algorithm is much shorter than the DFS algorithm, the total cost error of the feeder bus is 0.04%, and the departure frequency error is 4.6%, which is within the reasonable error range. Therefore, the collaborative optimization model proposed in this study is feasible and effective in optimizing the feeder bus routes and operation.

将人工神经元网络与全析因实验设计相结合,预测了PA6/POE/POE-g-MAH三元共混物的拉伸和缺口冲击强度,研究了注塑温度、注射速度、注射时间和冷却时间对共混物以上力学性能的影响。结果表明,当三元共混物质量比为74.5/20/5/0.5时,材料的缺口冲击强度均大于95 kJ/m~2,POE分散相粒径约为200~400 nm。通过析因实验设计发现,注塑温度、注射速度以及两者的交互效应对共混物拉伸强度影响显著,注塑温度、冷却时间以及两者的交互效应是影响冲击强度的显著因素。采用4-14-1的ANN模型可以较好地预测三元共混物拉伸强度和缺口冲击强度,预测结果与实验结果回归曲线的斜率均大于97%。与多元线性回归模型相比,ANN模型预测性能明显更佳,其Pearson相关系数大于0.97。

针对现实中公交运行受突发路况影响,运行速度呈现非平稳性的问题,平稳化处理运行速度具有重要意义.结合时序特征处理技术和深度学习,建立一种使用自动车辆定位数据预测公交到站时间的互补集合经验模态分解(CEEMD)-长短期记忆(LSTM)神经网络模型.该模型收集公交自动车辆定位数据(AVL),经预处理后引入互补集合经验模态分解平稳化公交运行速度,再借助Adam参数寻优后的长短期记忆神经网络,对福州市303路公交某日早高峰公交到站时间进行预测.结果表明:优化的公交到站时间预测模型平均绝对误差比单一模型低了1.69 min,预测精度高于长短期记忆神经网络模型和经验模态分解的到站时间预测模型,可有效地为安装车载自动车辆定位系统的公交线路预测公交到站时间提供参考.

Maximizing synchronous transfer between metro and buses considering connection level SCIE

Abstract :

Transfer between the metro (underground railway system) and buses is standard in many cities, and the simultaneous arrival of these two modes can provide passengers with a smoother transfer experience. However, previous synchronous transfer studies rarely consider different public transport modes simultaneously. This paper presents an optimization model that maximizes the number of metro and bus network synchronizations considering the connection level. An improved algorithm that combines simulated annealing (SA) and artificial bee colony (ABC) is proposed. The best nectar source position in history is combined with the SA operation. The ABC and simulated annealing and improved artificial bee colony (SA-IABC) algorithms are used to solve the model using the Nanmendou metro station and the bus stations within 1.2 km around it in Fuzhou City, China. The results show that ABC and improved SA-IABC algorithms increase the synchronization times of the metro and bus network by 17% and 24% on average, respectively, without expanding the departure frequency.
