Abstract :
有机电化学被国际纯粹与应用化学联合会(IUPAC)列入2023年度化学领域十大新兴技术之一.作为基础化学的重要分支,电化学在本科阶段主要是在无机化学中的"氧化还原反应"和物理化学中的"电解质溶液"等章节介绍了电化学基础知识,但对有机电化学的知识却鲜有提及.本文主要介绍近年来有机电化学的研究热点,并探讨在本科教学中引入有机电化学相关知识的几点思考.

Abstract :
An unprecedented base-metal-catalyzed oxidative cross-coupling between 2-naphthols and phenols or arylamines has been described in this report. Acetic acid and 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl (TEMPO) are the crucial oxidative system that promotes the transformation under aerobic conditions with the assistance of base-metal salts. While ferrous sulfate was the optimal catalyst in the oxidative coupling of 2-naphthols and phenols to produce 4-aryloxynaphthalene-1,2-diones, cuprous iodide catalyst is utilized to synthesize (arylimino)naphthalen-1(4H)-ones from 2-naphthols and arylamines. Employing this protocol, molecule skeletons similar to tanshinones, 2-(2-carboxyvinyl)benzoic acid and neo-tanshinlactone can be accessed thus highlighting its potential use in organic synthesis and drug discovery.

Abstract :
Porous materials are emerging recyclable electrocatalysts that exhibit many advantages such as rich pore environments, tunable structures and functionalities, and large specific surface areas. However, the research of these materials in organic electrocatalysis is promising but only emerged recently. In this review, we summarized the latest research progress of porous carbon materials, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), and covalent-organic frameworks (COFs) in organic electrocatalysis, focusing on their structural optimization, electrochemical performance, and reaction mechanisms. In addition, the main challenges and future directions in this field were also discussed. We hope that this review can inspire more research interest of synthetic organic chemists in the development of porous electrocatalysts in organic electrocatalysis.

Abstract :
The present Letter demonstrates a photoswitched stereodivergent synthesis of allylic sulfones from sodium sulfinates, triphenylvinylphosphonium chloride, and (hetero)aromatic aldehydes in a single step. Mechanistically, cis-allylic sulfones, generated from the unstabilized ylide intermediates and aldehydes in situ, could be finally converted to trans-allylic sulfones via photochemical isomerization in the presence of a catalytic amount of bis(2-thienyl) ketone.

Abstract :
This study describes the synthesis and potential applications of pentaaryl-substituted pyrroles. We report a Pd-catalyzed approach for their preparation from 4,5-diyne-9-fluorenone (1,7-diyne) and aromatic amines. The target nitrogen-doped corannulenes (CO-hub-Ncor) were investigated computationally to understand their electronic properties. While the conversion of pyrroles to CO-hub-Ncor is underway, the pyrroles themselves hold promise as valuable building blocks for N-doped buckybowls. Additionally, the synthesized pyrrole derivatives exhibit interesting reactivity, including pyrrole oxidation, leading to a ring-opening product, specifically a dicarbonyl compound.

A visible light-promoted fast photochemical Wolff rearrangement was developed toward synthesis of alpha-substituted amides in continuous flow with the use of a photochemical oscillatory flow reactor (POFR). The control experiment indicates that a fast process of the Wolff rearrangement (<40 s) is involved. Notably, this protocol does not require excess use of any reactants, and the resulting alpha-substituted amides could be isolated by recrystallization in good to excellent yields. Abstract :
An environmentally friendly and efficient electrochemical chlorination of thiophenes has been developed. The monochlorination, dichlorination and trichlorination of thiophenes are selectively achieved. Notably, the reaction has the merits of mild conditions, excellent functional group tolerance, high yields and selectivity, and the capacity for scale-up, thus providing a synthetically useful alternative to access mono- and polychlorinated thiophenes. A green and efficient electrochemical method for the selective monochlorination, dichlorination, and trichlorination of 2-substituted thiophenes has been developed.image

Catalytic C-H/N-H cross-coupling is considered an ideal strategy for accessing anilines and their derivatives, but its synthetic execution remains extremely challenging, especially when the exclusion of external oxidants is desired. Reported herein is a photoelectrocatalytic method for the preparation of anilides through the C-H/N-H coupling of arenes and carbamates, which employs DDQ as a molecular catalyst. The reactions are conducted in a simple undivided cell with visible-light irradiation and without any need for external chemical oxidants. In addition, the reactions employ arenes as a limiting agent and are compatible with benzene and halogenated benzenes. Reported herein is an organocatalyzed photoelectrochemical C(aryl)-H amination reaction for direct access to anilides from easily available and stable arenes and carbamates without the need for sacrificial oxidants.
