A new hysteresis model based on Weibull cumulative distribution function and Jiles-Atherton hysteresis model SCIE

Abstract :

Built on Weibull cumulative distribution function and the hysteresis rule of Jiles-Atherton model, this paper proposes a new hysteresis function suitable for modeling the hysteretic characteristics. After the domain of definition expanded, the cumulative distribution function of a two-parameter Weibull distribution is employed to describe the skeleton curve of the hysteresis. A simplified energy conversion equation based on Jiles-Atherton model is then presented to describe the loop curve. The proposed hysteresis model is solved by the predictor-corrector method. From calculation results, the model is capable of providing abundant descriptions of hysteresis and approximating some hysteresis with low deviations. Parameter determination method is given based on the principle of minimizing the calculation deviations between the proposed model and Jiles-Atherton model. Then the deviations are comprehensively discussed under wider value range when the magnetic fields are not lower than the specified values. At last, the parametric analysis, mainly the loop parameters on hysteresis curve, maximum value and loop area, is completed. With simpler expression and clearer parameter influence compared with the Jiles-Atherton model, the model is suitable for modeling various types of hysteretic systems, especially the system with a magnetic hysteresis.

Optimization of the Wire Diameter Based on the Analytical Model of the Mean Magnetic Field for a Magnetically Driven Actuator SCIE

Abstract :

A magnetic field induced by an electromagnetic coil is the key variable that determines the performance of a magnetically driven actuator. The applicability of the empirical models of the coil turns, static resistance, and inductance were discussed. Then, the model of the mean magnetic field induced by the coil was established analytically. Based on the proposed model, the sinusoidal response and square-wave response were calculated with the wire diameter as the decision variable. The amplitude and phase lag of the sinusoidal response, the time-domain response, steady-state value, and the response time of the square-wave response were discussed under different wire diameters. From the experimental and computational results, the model was verified as the relative errors were acceptably low in computing various responses and characteristic variables. Additionally, the optimization on the wire diameter was carried out for the optimal amplitude and response time. The proposed model will be helpful for the analytical analysis of the mean magnetic field, and the optimization result of the wire diameter under limited space can be employed to improve the performance of a magnetically driven actuator.

Abstract :

In this paper, the responses of machined surface roughness and milling tool cutting forces under the different milling processing parameters (cutting speed v, feed rate f, and axial cutting depth a(p)) are experimentally investigated to meet the increasing requirements for the mechanical machining of T2 pure copper. The effects of different milling processing parameters on cutting force and tool displacement acceleration are studied based on orthogonal and single-factor milling experiments. The three-dimensional morphologies of the workpieces are observed, and a white-light topography instrument measures the surface roughness. The results show that the degree of influence on S-a (surface arithmetic mean deviation) and S-q (surface root mean square deviation) from high to low level is the v, the f, and the a(p). When v = 600 m/min, a(p) = 0.5 mm, f = 0.1 mm/r, S-a and S-q are 1.80 mu m and 2.25 mu m, respectively. The cutting forces in the three directions negatively correlate with increased cutting speed; when v = 600 m/min, F-x reaches its lowest value. In contrast, an increase in the feed rate and the axial cutting depth significantly increases F-x. The tool displacement acceleration amplitudes demonstrate a positive relationship. Variation of the tool displacement acceleration states leads to the different microstructure of the machined surfaces. Therefore, selecting the appropriate milling processing parameters has a positive effect on reducing the tool displacement acceleration, improving the machined surface quality of T2 pure copper, and extending the tool's life. The optimal milling processing parameters in this paper are the v = 600 m/min, a(p) = 0.5 mm, and f = 0.1 mm/r.

Abstract :

Composite materials exhibit the impressive mechanical properties of high damping and stiffness, which cannot be attained by employing conventional single materials. Along these lines, a novel material ar-chitecture is presented in this work in order to fabricate composites with enhanced mechanical char-acteristics. More specifically, entangled metallic wire materials were used as the active matrix, whereas polyurethane was employed as the reinforcement elements. As a result, an entangled metallic wire material-polyurethane composite with high damping and stiffness was prepared by enforcing the vac-uum infiltration method. On top of that, the mechanical properties (loss factor, energy consumption, and average stiffness) of the proposed composite materials were characterized by performing dynamic tests, and its fatigue characteristics were verified by the micro-interface bonding, as well as the macro-damage factor. The impact of the density, preloading spacing, loading amplitude, and exciting frequency on the mechanical properties of the composites were also thoroughly analyzed. The extracted results indicate that the mechanical properties of the composites were significantly enhanced than those of the pure materials due to the introduction of interface friction. Moreover, the average stiffness of the composites was about 10 times the respective value of the entangled metallic wire material. Interestingly, a rise in the loading period leads to some failure between the composite interfaces, which reduces the stiffness property but enhances the damping dissipation properties. Finally, a comprehensive dynamic mechanical model of the composites was established, while it was experimentally verified. The proposed composites possess higher damping features, i.e., stiffness characteristics, and maintain better fatigue characteristics, which can broaden the application range of the composites. This research addresses the free vibration performance of bi-directional functionally graded materials (BDFGMs) rectangular plate with general boundary restraints and geometrical imperfections. The sym-metric/asymmetric material distributions subject to power-law along in-plane two directions are consid-ered. Two types of geometric imperfections are formulated employing transcendental functions, including the sine-type imperfection which is global eccentric/symmetrical and depicted by sine and exponential functions, and the cosine-type global/localized imperfections which is simulated by hyperbolic and cosine functions. The general boundary restraints are imitated by artificial virtual springs. The Lagrangian energy function is formulated, and then vibration characteristics of plates are acquired with the Ritz method and improved Fourier series. Verifications are carried out for accuracy of theoretical model and reliability of solution method. A comprehensive numerical investigation are exhibited to explore the influencing mech-anism of material distribution patterns, geometrical imperfection modal and elastic boundary restraints on vibration performance of rectangular plates. The results show that the in-plane material gradient can function as regulatory measures for dynamic characteristic of plates. In addition, geometric imperfec-tions may cause singularity in vibration performance of plate. 针对弹性阻尼螺旋金属丝网夹芯结构界面连接性能不明确的问题,分别采用真空钎焊和胶结两种典型连接工艺,进行了面内压缩和拉伸剪切力学性能试验,结合SEM和EDS等材料微观表征方法,展开夹芯结构界面结合的物理机制和力学特性的研究。研究结果表明:钎焊连接界面相对胶结更均匀连续,钎料中Ni、Si元素与芯材、面板中的Fe、Cr元素扩散现象明显,形成良好的冶金结合。在压缩载荷作用下,钎焊夹芯板和胶结夹芯板的损耗因子最高分别达到了0.194和0.128,两种方式制备的夹芯板都具有较大的能量耗散能力。钎焊和胶结夹芯板的拉伸剪切载荷峰值分别达到了2 589 N和1 302 N,前者峰值载荷随芯材密度的增加而增加,而...
