Abstract:

A single-phase chopper-controlled Alternating Current (AC) voltage regulator circuit is designed for 36 V low-voltage application scenarios. The study involves theoretical analysis, simulation modeling, and experimental verification, addressing main circuit design, control strategy optimization, sampling circuit configuration, and parameter tuning. A bidirectional switching device, composed of a fully controlled switch and a diode, is used to implement Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) chopper control combined with Proportional-Integral (PI) closed-loop regulation, enabling an adjustable output voltage from 1 V to 25 V. The LC filter parameters and sampling circuit are optimized through simulations in MATLAB and Proteus. Experimental results show that the circuit maintains an output voltage error within ±0.3 V under closed-loop control, exhibiting stable performance and high applicability for low-voltage AC regulation. © 2025 IEEE.
