Abstract:

A high gain linear MIMO antenna array for 5G mobile terminal is proposed in this article. Based on microstrip antenna technology, the array element is designed by slotting an H-shape groove on the patch to expand the working bandwidth of the antenna. This element can be employed to form the linear MIMO antenna array. In our work, a 2 × 4 antenna array is constructed and analyzed by HFSS. Simulation results show that the designed antenna arrays exhibit good performances. The working frequency of the designed array is from 3.43 to 3.67 GHz. One conclusion can be obtained that with the increase of the number of the elements, the gain become higher by appropriately settled the antenna elements. The measured results of the array are relatively consistent and slightly better than the simulation results. The designed antenna array is suitable for 5G mobile terminal. © 2023 IEEE.
