Abstract:
This paper presents a wideband multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna based on Indium-tin-oxide (ITO) material for the use in 5G transparent base stations. The MIMO antenna consists of two printed monopole antennas. Indium tin oxide (ITO) is used as a conductive layer with a sheet resistance of 2-Ω/sq, adhered to a soda-lime glass substrate. The estimated optical transmittance can reach 75% [1]. The two monopole antennas are fed through an edge-coupled coplanar waveguide to eliminate coupling between antenna elements. Simulation results show that the antenna has good impedance matching in the frequency range of 4.55-7.55 GHz with isolation level higher than 20 dB and antenna efficiency greater than 82%. © 2023 IEEE.
