Abstract:
A novel heterometallic organotin-oxo cluster (BuSn)(4)Ga2Mn2O6(SeO3)(6) has been prepared by a hydrothermal reaction and its structure was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Such discrete butyltin-oxo selenide cluster doped with two cationic metals (Ga and Mn) has a narrow band-gap and shows promise for photocurrent conversion. Solid state variable temperature fluorescence spectra show the increased intensity and the blue-shift of the maximum emission peak from 435 to 430 nm with decreasing temperature. The doped transition metal endows the compound with ferromagnetic-like behavior.
