Abstract:

This study proposes a novel chirped fiber grating loop ring-down strain sensor based on overlap spectrum demodulation technology. Using a ring-down structure and overlapping spectrum demodulation technology, the structure can relate the inverse of the cavity ring-down time (1/τ) to the strain. This design has many advantages, including good linearity, a wide measuring range, and excellent flexibility. Furthermore, the feasibility of the sensor design is demonstrated by both theoretical analysis and experiment results. © 2022 Elsevier Inc.
