To　sort　out　the　historical　evolution　of　China＇s　environmental　governance,　we　divided　China＇s　environmental　governance　into　five　stages　from　1949　to　2021.　We　found　that　the　governance　logic　of　China＇s　environmental　governance　depends　on　the　operating　mechanism　and　governance　model.　From　the　vertical　perspective,　China＇s　environmental　operation　mechanism　has　the　characteristics　of　unified　leadership　of　the　central　government　and　hierarchical　governance　between　the　central　and　local　governments;　from　the　horizontal　perspective,　local　governments　at　the　same　level　cooperate,　compete　and　supervise　with　each　other.　Finally,　we　have　put　forward　some　targeted　suggestions　for　building　a　beautiful　environment　in　China.
