韩愈是唐代古文运动的倡导者和先驱,他的文学理论和创作成就在文学史上有着不可磨灭的贡献.为了挽救日益沦落的封建道德,他时刻以儒家道统的继承者自居,竭力宣扬儒家思想.他努力维护道统,实际上往往自觉或不自觉地破坏道统,反复自攻其说,不一而足.
