A novel decoloring flocculant, denoted as T-1 was prepared by adopting the raw materials of dicyandiamide, formaldehyde, sodium acetate, ammonium chloride and aluminium chloride etc. And, the effect factors, i. e., dosage of the flocculant, solution pH and temperature etc. were Optimized, It can be concluded that the removal percentages of COD_(Cr) and colourity of the effluent could reach 78.3% and 70% respectively under such optimal conditions as 8 of the effluent pH value,30℃ of the effluent temperature and 100 mg? L~(-1) of the flocculant dosage etc. Moreover,the flocculating efficiency of T-1 prevailed over such flocculants as poly (aluminium chloride) (PAC) ,poly(aluminium sulphate) (PAS).
