Location optimization of dual-type sensors for multi-kind structural response reconstruction
Translated Abstract
Here, the optimal design method for integrated sensor systems including both strain and displacement measurement sensors with the objective of possible best reconstruction of structural responses using Kalman filtering algorithm was proposed. The locations were deleted from the candidates under the condition that the deletion caused the minimum reconstruction error until either the normalized maximum reconstruction error variance or the average theoretical one reached the predefined threshold. Then, the numbers and locations of the two types of sensors were determined.A two-dimensional truss structure was presented as a numerical example to investigate the effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed approach. The results indicated that the reconstructed responses are in good agreement with the real ones and the integrated sensor system provides a better reconstruction of structural response than the single-type sensor system does.
