In order to shorten the charging time and extend the lifespan of lead-acid battery, an automatic con- trol system of Solar LED street lamp is designed. The duty ratio of the PWM wave is adjusted according to the real- time voltage of storage battery and solar panel, so as to realize fast pulse charging. The fast pulse charging method with constant voltage and limited current can effectively eliminate the phenomenon of polarization and improve the charging efficiency. The charging and discharging process of the battery can been precisely controlled. By this reli- able and cost-effective proposed system, rural roads can be illuminated with lower power lamps, no CO2 emissions, and environmentally friendly.
