Translated Abstract
Based on the theories such as resource-based view,embeddedness theory and technology innovation,this paper constructs a conceptual model which could be summarized as a path of three steps,namely from external knowledge network embeddedness to meaning innovation processe（including interpreting and envisioning）,and to design innovation performance.Using the data from design-intensive firms,it validates the hypotheses by the structure equation modeling.The result shows as follows：external knowledge network embeddedness has a positive effect on design innovation performance through meaning innovation process;interpreting process and envisioning process play different intermediary roles.
