Translated Abstract
To investigate the effects of principal elements strengthened with CFRP sheets on the overall earthquake resistant behavior, the variation in earthquake resistant behavior of the RC frame, four ultimate damage states for RC frames strengthened by CFRP were defined, and a method for solving the limit values of the four performance levels was put forward. On the basis of the validation, the earthquake resistant behavior and performance-based seismic fragility of the original structure and the retrofitted structure were compared using the developed method based on the results of incremental dynamic analysis ( IDA) . The study showed that the weak layers had changed after the frame was repaired by CFRP and the deformation of the repaired frames appeared early to consume the seismic energy, while the bearing capacity and the ductility improved and the anti-seismic capabilities were clearly enhanced.
