It is a normal state for DNA sequence difference existing among different organisms, and there is no exception even for certain biological species.DNA sequence model as a convenient display approach for specific DNA of biological species is proposed here.For a specific DNA sequence, DNA sequence model of biological species in certain ecosystem is constructed by transforming the DNA sequences of all the species to a sequence.The transforming can be completed following the degenerate bases rule at species level or genus level or other taxon-levels, even for certain biological community.Monascus spp.is the endemic genus to Hong Qu Glutinous Rice Wine brewing system.And the nearly full-length 18S rDNA sequence model of this microorganism was obtained here using the method constructed; subsequently the basic sequence characteristics of the 18S rDNA sequence model were analyzed.The results showed that little sequence difference of 18S rDNA was found among species of Monascus spp., and the variable sites reached 1.35% of the total sites.However, most variable sites were concentrated in two hypervariable regions, so these two regions could be used as target fragments for the microbial diversity research of Monascus spp.The DNA sequence model proposed here can give a visual profile of sequence characteristics of biological species or communities in certain ecosystem, and which is helpful to the research of the characteristics of biological communities.
