Abstract：

A　new　octadentate　ligand　L　was　synthesized　by　tetrafunctionalization　of　1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane　(L1,　cyclam)　with　4-pyridylmethyl　groups　and　its　two　novel　cadmium　polymeric　metallamacrocyclic　complexes,　[Cd3L1.5(C6H5O7)　2·6H2O]n　(1)　and　[CdCl2L　2·2.5H2O]n　(2),　were　obtained　by　hydrothermal　methods.　©　Wiley-VCH　Verlag　GmbH　&　Co.　KGaA,　2005.
