Abstract:

Refined natural pyrophyllite has been used as a starting material with other compouds for peparing sodium fast ionic conductors Na1+3x+yAlxNdy Ti2-x-ySi2xPa3-2xO12 by high temperature (900-1100°C) solid phase reaction for about 15h. Nasicon-like structure (space group R3̄C) phase exists in the composition range of y = 0.3, x≤0.3; y = 0.5, x≤0.2. This phase possesses high ionic conductivity at room temperature. The maximum conductivity in the above range is the initial composition with x = 0.1, y = 0.3, Its conductivity is 1.80 × 10-2 S/cm at 350°.
