Abstract:
Silicon carbide (SiC) with a surface area of 159 m 2/g was speedy synthesized by a simple sol-gel process and carbothermal reduction method. In this method, the cheap sodium silicate and sucrose were used as silicon resource and carbon resource, respectively. Meanwhile, HCl was used as acidity regulator while H 2SO 4 acted as catalyst. Then the Pd/SiC catalyst was prepared by incipient impregnation for the investigation of oxidation on CO and C 3H 6. The result showed that the catalyst loaded 0.45wt% Pd exhibited relatively high catalyst activity, and the lowest complete conversion temperature of CO was 230°C and C 3H 6 was 235°C.
