Abstract:

Bottom-up synthesis of graphitic carbon nitride semiconductor catalysts for the photocatalytic evolution of hydrogen by visible light is achieved through the polymerization of dicyandiamide with organic monomers bearing cyano groups, amino groups, or both. This strategy allows ample opportunity to adjust the physical and chemical properties of the resulting heterogeneous carbon-nitride-based organocatalysts. Copyright © 2012 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
