Abstract:
The flyback power converter with multi-output LED current sharing was studied. The novel magnetics integration scheme was proposed by combining power transformer and current-sharing coupling inductor in a single magnetic core structure. With electrical and magnetic theory and electrical circuit and magnetic circuit syno simulation, the operation principle, operation waveforms and current-sharing output characteristics were analyzed in details. The analysis and experimental test results showed its excellent multi-output current-sharing behaviors and <3% current-sharing accuracy was ensured even with eight times load difference, which fully satisfied the requirement of engineering applications. The proposed scheme has many advantages such as advanced magnetic integration technology, simple structure, no extra current-sharing control circuit needed, higher reliability, high efficiency, high power density, lower cost and etc., and has practical applications in multi-output LED driving power supplies. © 2012 Chin.
