Abstract:

Al-Ti-C-Ce master alloy was prepared with K2TiF6, graphite powder, rare earth oxide Ce2O3 and commercial pure aluminum as raw materials, and microstructure of the master alloy is observed by OM (optical microscope), XRD (X-ray diffraction), SEM (scanning electron microscope) and EDAX. Meanwhile, effects of self-developed Al-Ti-C-Ce master alloy and imported Al-Ti-C-Ce master alloy on grain size and mechanical properties of 7010 aluminum alloy were analyzed. The results show that grain size in 7010 aluminum alloy is greatly refined, and tensile strength and elongation of the alloy are obviously improved with Al-Ti-C-Ce master alloy refinement.
