Abstract:

Al-20Si alloy was prepared by electromagnetic stirring and by melt-blending combining with electromagnetic stirring, respectively. The results indicate that a segregation layer can be observed in the AlSi alloy prepared by electromagnetic stirring, in which the size of primary Si phase is more than 60pm, while coarse primary Si segregation occurred in edge of electromagnetic stirred A1-20Si alloy can be eliminated and size of primary Si phase can be refined to less than 16μm after combination treatment of melt-blending with electromagnetic stirring, which is attributed to melt-blending promoting the electromagnetic stirring effects on A1-20Si alloy.
