Abstract:

Assembly voided slab bridge is widely been used in China, there are many advantages could be found on this kind of bridge. However the hinged joint is the weakest part of the structure. Many drawings of typical Chinese assembly voided slab bridge were collected, some rules were gained by statistical analysis. A field inspection of an expressway in China was performed in 2012, assembly voided slab bridge takes up a large proportion of bridges in this expressway. Some rules of distress of assembly voided slab bridge were also acquired by statistical analysis. Based on the finite element analysis and experimental results that had been finished before, a new kind of hinged joint was put forward. © 2014 Taylor & Francis Group.
