Abstract:
Digital Signal Controller dsPIC is introduced into intelligent AC contactors in this paper. There are Digital PI and on/off control presented in detail, which adjusted coil current in real-time to make the dynamic attraction and counterforce of contactor fit well in making. So that the bounce time of contact reduced greatly and the lifetime of AC contactors prolonged. During holding, coil current kept in a low value to save energy. In addition, coil current can be monitored, which realized the protection of over-current by High-Speed Analog Comparator, integrated in dsPIC. It has the characteristics of fast-response, high-accuracy and flexibility. In conclusion, the digital control module has many advantages such as compactness, simple hardware, fast response and cheapness, it is suitable for working on a much wider range of AC or DC voltage and adapt to different objects by programming slightly rather than changing hardware. Meanwhile, The performance of digital intelligent AC contactors is affected little by parameters varying, environment changing or devices' burn-in.
