Abstract:
Nano-zinc ferrites, prepared by co-precipitation method from iron(III) chloride hexahydrate and zinc sulfate with sodium hydroxide as precipitation agent, were characterized by TG-DTA, XRD, TEM, and FT-IR. The results indicated that zinc ferrites with better spine-type structure were obtained after calcining the zinc ferrites precursors prepared by co-precipitation at 800 °C sintering temperature. The degradation of rhodamine B (RhB) in aqueous solution was conducted using ZnFe204 as photo-catalyst under iodine-tungsten lamp irradiation. Results proved that the photocatalytic activity was excellent at 0. 1 g/L, and the degradation rates of RhB could be up to 86. 2%.
