Abstract:
To research the mechanical behavior of concrete members strengthened by CFRP sheets bonded with an organic adhesive, three unbonded prestressed concrete two-span continuous beams after bending test were strengthened with CFRP sheets bonded with the organic epoxy adhesives. Test on the flexural behavior of the strengthened beams was carried out. The tested data of curve of load-deflection at mid-span and bending moment capacity of the strengthened beams were obtained. The failure mode is that the tensile longitudinal steel bars yield first, then CFRP sheets break in tension. Experimental results showed that the flexural behavior of damaged prestressed concrete continuous beams can be improved significantly by strengthening with CFRP sheets bonded with the inorganic adhesives. Computational method of stiffness and normal section load-bearing capacity of the prestressed concrete continuous beams after bending test strengthened with CFRP sheets bonded with inorganic adhesive. The calculated result is in good agreement with testing data. ©, 2014, Wuhan University of Technology. All right reserved.
