Abstract:
In this study, we examined the effect of ethyl cellulose as organogel on animal nutrition physiological function by the rat feeding test, including the high risk factor of cardiovascular disease. The results showed that rat body weight of experimental groups was lower than the control group, and the high dose group was the lowest. The data also showed the indexes of free fatty acid, uric acid were significantly lower than that of the control group. Compared with other groups, high does of ethyl cellulose increased the level of albumin, globulin, total protein and leptin of rat. In addition, the level of high density lipoprotein, AAI of anti atherogenic were higher than that of control group (P<0.05); both AI of atherogenic index and lipase activity were significantly lower than control group (P>0.05). On the other hand, high dose group rats have the higher level of serum glucose, total cholesterol, triglyceride, low density lipoprotein and the ratio of high density lipoprotein cholesterol and low density lipoprotein (HDL/LDL value) than other groups. With feed of ethyl cellulose shortenings, there was not adverse effects on rats. © 2017, Editorial Office of Journal of CIFST. All right reserved.
