Abstract:
Experiment study on a dumbbell-shaped CFST arch subjected to spatial loads under non-directional loads was carried out. The lateral load-displacement curves present nonlinear characteristics in the initial stage of lateral loading, which is caused by geometric nonlinearity. And the influence of initial out-of-plane imperfection decreases gradually with the increase of lateral loading. The preliminary analysis about the influence of non-directional loads on a dumbbell-shaped section CFST arch was carried out on the basis of the dual nonlinearity finite element model verified by the experimental results. The analysis results show that the positive influence of non-directional loads on the spatial mechanical behavior of arch structure under spatial loads becomes more obvious with the increase of hanger force. © 2017, Editorial Office of Journal of Building Structures.
