Translated Abstract
Using a longitudinal case of female - led family business, this paper attempts to find the relationship between institutional change and the rise of female entrepreneurship. Based on the grounded theory and institutional theory, we build an analysis model with three dimensions of "gender equality, entrepreneurial legitimacy, and female entrepreneurial ability" which emerged from the materials. The study indicates that the sequences of the institutional changes lead to the rise of female entrepreneurship. China' s authoritarian system has the efficiency advantage of launching a large - scale social reform since gender equality had a direct impact on the traditional family model and sex division, the reform and opening up realized the legitimacy of entrepreneurship, and women gradually accumulated and improved their entrepreneurial abilities on the discovery and exploration of opportunity through learning by doing. Finally, the interaction of the three factors leads to the rise of female entrepreneurship.
