Abstract:
Fe-containing niobate Ba4Nd2Fe2Nb8O30 with tungsten bronze structure was prepared by solid state reaction method. Effects of annealing on structure and properties of the as-sintered and annealed Ba4Nd2Fe2Nb8O30 ceramics in different atmospheres were investigated, respectively. Results show that only the tungsten bronze phase is observed in both of the ceramics. Although annealing treatment does not change the phase composition, the obvious effect of annealing is observed on the dielectric and ferroelectric properties through adjusting the content of oxygen vacancies and order degree of ion distribution. Unit cell volume of the Ba4Nd2Fe2Nb8O30 ceramics shrinks or expands when annealed in N2 and O2, respectively. Both the dielectric constant and dielectric loss of the Ba4Nd2Fe2Nb8O30 ceramic annealed in N2 were obviously higher than those of the other ceramics. Moreover, no electric hysteresis loop at room temperature is observed in the Ba4Nd2Fe2Nb8O30 ceramics annealed in N2. While the ferroelectricity of the ceramics annealed in O2 is more stronger than that of the as-sintered one. © 2015, Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society of Heat Treatment. All right reserved.
