Abstract:

In order to mitigate the hazards of arc fault occurring in neutral non-effective grounding system, two arc-suppression methods based on cascaded H-bridge converter were proposed. The converter in shunt in the distribution network produces a proper current to compensate for the fault current, which results in zero voltage between faulty phase and ground. The implementation of proposed methods is presented. The simulation results verify the methods proposed in this paper. © 2016 IEEE.
