Abstract:

Based on the theory of reliability and the consideration of stochastic property of soil, the basic idea about the stochastic finite element method used to analyze the reliability of slope stability is presented in this paper, then the reliability formula of slope stability is deduced and the applied program is developed to calculate the corresponding reliability index. The integrated reliability of the slope stability is analyzed by searching instability pattern. Finally, an engineering example shows that the method used to analyze the integrated reliability of the slope stability is feasible and practical, and some influencing rules of selection of stochastic variable on the reliability index are obtained that could give a reference to relative engineering and technical Personnel.
