Abstract:

We built a weighted network model of 69 cities based on an express company's real air transportation network by regarding the total number of flights between pairs of cities as the weights of edges. According to the results of empirical study, we found that weighted air transportation network is of the characteristic of small-world and scale-free, we also discussed the correlations of betweenness-degree, degree-degree and clustering-degree of this network, which showed that the network is of community structure and hierarchical structure. ©2009 IEEE.
