Abstract:
We analyzed how entrepreneurial team processes affect business performance, and the mediating effect of social capital in youth small business ventures in Taiwan. Participants were predominantly young entrepreneurs between 20 and 40 years of age in Taiwan venture industries. Empirical analysis results showed that the entrepreneurial team had a significant positive impact on social capital and business performance. However, social capital was not a mediator between team management and firm performance. Practical implications are that when an entrepreneurial team is in a state of high cohesion and communicates well, more social capital will be captured for the improvement of business performance. © 2020 Scientific Journal Publishers Limited.
