Abstract:

Three new phosphine disubstituted derivatives of [2Fe2S] model complexes with pendant pyridine family, [(μ-SEt)(μ-SCH 2 C 6 H 4 N)Fe 2 (CO) 4 (L) 2 ] (2, L = PPh 3 ; 3, L = dppm; 4, L = PMe 3 ), have been synthesized and the molecular structure of 2 was determinated by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. They were all characterized by MS, FT-IR, 31 P and 1 H NMR spectra and their electrochemical behaviors were also conducted. The protonation of complex 4 with HBF 4 ·Et 2 O was also investigated by FT-IR, 31 P and 1 H NMR spectroscopies at variable temperature, which reveals the formations of both bridging and terminal hydride intermediates. © 2017
