Abstract:
The crystal structures of the complexes [Cu2(OAc)4(Ur)2] · 2H2O 1 and {[Cu(H2Y)] · Ur · H2O}n 2 have been determined by X-ray diffraction method. Complex 1 is monoclinic space group P21 with a = 8. 472(2), b = 4. 097(3) , c = 8. 725(1) Å, β = 109. 03(1)°, V = 985. 0 Å3, Mr = 441. 33, Z = 2, Dc = 1. 488 g/cm3, μ (Mo/Ca) = 22. 1 cm-1, F(000) = 448, final R = 0. 065 (Rw = 0. 083) for 2325 unique reflections with I≥3σ(I). The two Cu atoms are bridged by four acetato, and there are two terminal urea ligands, one on each Cu atom. Complex 2 crystallizes in orthorhombic space group P212121 with celll parameters a = 15. 114(5), b = 15. 516(3), c = 6.873(2) Å, V = 1611. 8 Å3, Mr = 431. 84, Z = 4, Dc = 1. 779 g/cm3, F(000) = 892, μ(MoKa) = 14. 2 cm-1, R = 0. 054, (Rw = 0. 073) for 1651 unique reflections with I≥3σ(I). In complex 2 the four carboxyl groups of EDTA are in different fashions; one carboxyl group is not coordinated, two carboxylato groups are as monodentate ligands, and only one bridges the metal atoms to form infinite structure.
