Abstract:

As the components operating at high frequency and switch mode excitation, parasitic parameter extractions of power electronics magnetics, such as transformer, have many special issues. A parasitic capacitance related with leakage inductance and winding resistance in the lumped circuit model of a transformer is found to be significant in transformer circuit model. The influence of eddy current effects and magnetic field distributions due to high frequency and winding arrangement on the capacitance are considered and FEA simulation model is proposed to calculate the capacitance.
