Abstract:
As an alternative to timber, steel and steel reinforcement in some special conditions, using of FRP composites is increasingly interested in engineering. The advantages of utilizing FRP in engineering are summarized into higher strength, good resistance to corrosion and fatigue, and greater dimensional and thermal stability. This paper briefly expounds the present situation of the research on the dynamic beheviors of FRP-confined concrete columns from three aspects including structural experiments, calculating method and calculating theory, and analyzes the shortcomings in the research. After comparing many achievements, this paper puts forward several key problems in the research of dynamic behavior of FRP-confined concrete according to the characteristic of composite action between FRP tube and concrete. Finally, the development of the dynamic behavior of FRP-confined concrete structures is prospected.
