New calculation method of the fixed angle softened truss model

Abstract:

Authors proposed a new kind of calculation method of the fixed angle softened truss model of reinforced concrete membrane elements, its calculation procedure was from stresses to strains. The new method had better reliability and was more convenient in reaching correct results than the methods provided in other references. The descendant stage of τlt-γlt curve could be predicted when the new method was applied. The calculation results of six panels, which are gained by the new method, coincide with test data quite well.
