Abstract：

Two　palladium　(II)　complexes　with　the　ligand　p-ClC6H　4-HIEAI　[p-ClC6H　4-HIEAI=isonitrosoethylacetoacetate-N-(p-chlorobenzyl)　imine],　PdCl　(p-ClC6H4-IEAI)　(p-ClC6H4NH　2)　(1)　and　Pd(p-ClC6H4-IEAI)2　(2),　were　prepared　and　characterized　by　IR　and　electronic　spectroscopy.　The　crystal　structure　of　1　has　been　determined.　The　geometry　around　the　palladium　atom　in　1　is　a　distorted　square　plane,　the　Schiff　base　ligand　p-ClC6H　4-IEAI-　being　coordinated　to　Pd　atom　through　its　oximo-nitrogen　atoms　and　imino-nitrogen　atoms.　CCDC:　180873.
