Abstract:

Ni-Fe-C-Si self-lubricating alloy was prepared by melting method. The effects of iron content on the mechanical, dry friction and oil lubrication friction properties were-investigated. The results show that with increasing of iron content, the content of graphite and the self-lubrication of the alloy increase, the impact toughness and the tensile strength decrease, and the hardness reduces at first and then increases. Both the coefficients of dry friction and oil lubrication reduce with increasing of iron content, and the wear rate reduces with the increasing of hardness values. The dry friction coefficient of Ni-60Fe-3.5C-1Si alloy (mass fraction, %) is the smallest, and the dry friction and oil lubrication coefficients of the alloy are 0.18 and 0.40, respectively.
