Abstract:
To reduce lead-time of a product in the project manufacturing environment while improving on time completion rate, a new approach based on CCPM to setting lead-time is developed. After analyzing the features of project manufacturing, it is concluded that current methods of setting lead-time usually don't perform well for project manufacturing. For the project manufacturing has the same features as a project, incorporated CCPM, a four step approach which involves defining a project, identifying critical chain, setting buffers and constructing the project plan, to set lead-time is proposed. A simulation experiment indicates that the proposed approach outperforms CPM. ©2009 IEEE.
