Abstract:

The motion process of permanent magnetic mechanism and dynamic characteristics of the contact arc are the major factors that determine the performance of the magnetic latching relay. However, due to its small and compactness, the motion characteristic of the mechanism and the dynamic process of electric arc are difficult to measure accurately. In view of the advantages on image acquisition of the high-speed camera, the test device based on high-speed camera system for relay's dynamic characteristics test is designed in this paper. The non-contact testing and image processing of the dynamic characteristic of mechanism and contact arc are accomplished. On the basis of the test, the dynamic characteristics of armature, contact and the arc characteristic are analyzed. Meanwhile, the time parameters of dynamic process are measured by digital storage oscilloscope to validate the data testing by high-speed camera system.
