Abstract:
A novel spherical chelation adsorbent was prepared from the waste of acrylic fiber, and the adsorption kinetic of Cr(VI) on the adsorbent was investigated. The results suggested that, within the observed temperature and concentration range, the adsorption rate of Cr(VI) was high and the equilibrium was reached in nearly 30min. The experimental data for the adsorption systems followed a second-order equation, and the chemical adsorption is the main adsorption process with low energy and the activation energy Ea is 36.03kJ/mol, the adsorption involves diffusion controlled process combined by surface diffusion and intra-particle diffusion. © 2011 IEEE.
