Abstract:

The rural agricultural power load normally scatters around with a low density that makes the usage ratio of power feeders remarkably low. It is unreasonable to upgrade the rural distribution network at a large scale in order to suffice the rural power demand, the sharply increased seasonal agricultural production load in particular. This implies a cost-effective opportunity to introduce the movable electric system to enhance the power supply capability to suffice the seasonal agricultural production load in different season and areas with the technical progress and cost drop of the LiFePO4 battery and power converter system. Based on advantages of the movable battery electric storage system to enhance the rural power supply capability, this paper tentatively proposes using the movable battery electric storage system to enhance the rural power supply capability. The structure of movable battery electric storage system is briefed. The management of the LiFePO4 battery array and the work mode of the power converter system also are discussed. Finally, the field applications is introduced which testifies the effectiveness to enhance the rural power supply capability. © 2014 IEEE.
