Abstract:
The design evolution of textile surface patterns is influenced by the culture backgrounds, styles, and design techniques of different times, and the pattern design of the surface is widely applied in daily life, offering unbounded pleasure to human life experience. In this work, we use the multifractal spectra to study the surface morphology of the textile pattern in quilts art design. First, a brief description of the fractal geometry is given and then, the characteristics of plane formation of the textile pattern in quilts art design are analysed. Based on box-counting method, an algorithm is derived to calculate the multifractal spectra of the plane formation of the textile pattern in quilts art design. The results of this paper include a mathematical model to describe the observation of multifractal characteristics in the plane formation of the textile pattern in quilts art design. © 2015 Taylor & Francis Group, London.
